Source and editorial methodology

Our rule: describe the policy question, cite the primary source, disclose uncertainty, and never turn an illustration or observation into a legal verdict.

Source hierarchy

  1. Current official statutes and code pages published by the relevant legislature.
  2. Official agency guidance for administrative context.
  3. Official representative directories for officeholder verification.
  4. Secondary sources only as background, never as the authority for a legal claim.

How summaries are written

Summaries use restrained language such as “addresses,” “concerns,” or “is relevant to.” We avoid saying an image “proves” a violation, estimating intent, identifying a driver, or presenting enforcement outcomes without verified aggregate data.

Illustrations

Placards and obstruction examples are generated public-education artwork. They are labeled independent or illustrative, use fictional plate identifiers, and are not photographs of real incidents. Artwork is paired with accessible HTML context and a primary-source link.

Representative messages

Drafts are jurisdiction-aware but not automatically fact-checked against an address. The user must identify and confirm the official on the linked government directory. Drafts cite the official statute, link to the site’s synthetic examples as an independent public-education resource, request guidance, data, or oversight, and expressly avoid allegations against a person or vehicle.

Review cadence

Flamingo Time will review the three linked statute pages and representative directories at least once each calendar quarter and before any material advocacy campaign. The review date shown on the main page is updated only after that check. Official sources continue to control between reviews.

Corrections

Send corrections to legal@showyourplates.com. A material correction should identify the claim, authoritative source, date reviewed, and resulting change. Do not send incident reports, images, plate numbers, or personal information.
