1. Publisher and contact
Show Your Plates is published by Flamingo Time as an independent civic-education project. Send legal notices, corrections, accessibility concerns, and copyright requests to legal@showyourplates.com. Do not send incident reports, photographs, plate numbers, or sensitive personal information.
2. Scope
These terms govern your use of Show Your Plates. By using the site, you agree to use it only for lawful, peaceful civic participation and to independently verify information before relying on or sending it.
3. No affiliation or professional relationship
Show Your Plates is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government, law-enforcement agency, motor-vehicle agency, court, or elected official. Your use does not create an attorney-client, agency, fiduciary, or confidential relationship.
4. Informational content
Summaries, illustrations, links, and generated drafts may be incomplete, outdated, or inapplicable to a particular situation. Official sources control. Nothing on the site determines that any person violated a law.
5. Message builder
The message builder runs in your browser. You are responsible for confirming the recipient, constituency, citation, factual accuracy, tone, and final text. The site does not send, store, or endorse your message.
6. Prohibited use
- Do not use the site to identify, track, shame, threaten, harass, or accuse a person.
- Do not trespass, follow, confront, obstruct, or impersonate another person or government entity.
- Do not submit plate numbers, faces, addresses, precise locations, allegations, or images to the site; the current release has no submission channel.
- Do not misrepresent generated artwork as government-issued signage or documentary evidence.
7. Availability and changes
The site may change, suspend, or remove features or content without notice. Source links are checked on the cadence described in the methodology but are not continuously monitored.
8. Disclaimer and limitation
The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness, or noninfringement to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the publisher and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the site.
9. Future submissions
Any future photo, observation, account, or database feature will require separate terms, privacy disclosures, moderation controls, and counsel review. No such feature is part of this release.
